Z-LION Diamond Cloth Discs for Finishing and Dimensioning Hard Coated Materials
Z-LION resin bonded diamond cloth discs are specifically designed to handle superhard thermal spray and ceramic thermal barrier coatings. Thus, they are highly effective on material such as silicon carbide, chromium carbide, tungsten carbide, and yttrium-stabilized zirconia (YSZ). Therefore, they are widely adpoted in the oil and gas, electronics and semiconductors, aerospace, and power generation industries.
The specific features of Z-LION diamond cloth sanding discs are as follows:
• Diamond abrasives are first bonded into micro-structured granules, which are then attached to a cloth backing to create the diamond cloth discs. As the discs gradually wear down during use, new particles are continuously exposed. This process ensures stable and consistent cutting performance throughout their entire service life.
• Resin bonded diamond cloth discs are ideal for processing superhard coatings, ceramic coatings, and other materials that difficult to machine. In these applications, they offer a more uniform and consistent surface finish than electroplated flexible diamond grinding disc.
• Supported by the cloth backing, the Roloc polishing disc can easily conform to narrow, complex contours, curved surfaces, irregular shapes, and other hard-to-reach areas.
• While capable of dry grinding, these diamond cloth sanding discs perform best when using with a coolant. In diamond grinding and polishing operations, water is the ideal cooling medium. It effectively reduces heat buildup and extends the life of the abrasive.
Specifications and Mounting:
• Diameter: Available in 2-inch and 3-inch sizes.
• Mounting Types: MRD (plastic threaded screw-in mounting system, also known as the "Roloc" mount) or MSD (metal to metal twist lock mounting system, also known as the "Socatt" mount).
| Product Name: | Diamond cloth discs |
| Item No.: | ZL-DCD |
| Brand: | Z-LION |
| Working surface: | Resin bonded diamond |
| Features of the product: | • The diamond abrasive is first bonded into small abrasive particles, which are then bonded to a cloth backing to form the diamond cloth disc. As the disc wears during use, fresh abrasive particles are gradually exposed, ensuring consistent cutting performance throughout the whole life of the tool. • Compared with electroplated flexible diamond sanding discs, resin-bonded diamond cloth discs deliver a more consistent finish on superhard coatings, ceramic coatings, and other hard-to-grind materials. • Greater flexibility allows the diamond cloth disc to conform more easily to tight contours, curved surfaces, irregular profiles and other hard-to-reach areas. • Although this diamond cloth disc can be used for dry grinding, using a coolant is recommended for optimal performance. Water is particularly suitable for diamond grinding and polishing, as it helps reduce heat buildup and extend abrasive life. |
